It looks like there’s a light at the end of the tunnel with the NSW Premier recently announcing that on the Monday following our 70% double dose milestone, vaccinated NSW residents will be granted certain freedoms.
So it’s time to get fit for our return to the greens!
It’s important that we practice our lunges to prevent injuries to our butt cheeks, quads and hammies. A strained or pulled hamstring is no fun. I suggest rolling an orange or grapefruit down your hallway or driveway for practice. Remember to stay down with hand out. Not only will this improve your balance and delivery, it will also give you juicy fruit. Do not peel the fruit first. Also, this does not work with bananas!
When we do eventually get back on the green, be careful which words you use to comment on other player’s shots. If it’s too long, avoid using phrases such as “too heavy”, “too wide” or “you need to take off some weight”. These comments may be misconstrued to have nothing to do with bowls at all!
So, dust off your bowls, give them a kiss and a polish, and remember, the small ring goes on the inside.
…Or is that the outside?
…No, definitely the inside.
…I think
I’ll be sure to get the Wrong Bias Jar out immediately. We will make a fortune for our chosen charity.
Until we are back on the green again, please stay home, stay healthy and get vaccinated.
It has been a really long time since we all enjoyed each other’s company both on and off the green. I for one will be very pleased
a. To get away from Pete for a few hours (I’m sure he feels the same).
b. To get away from Pete for a few more hours.
c. I have had enough of doing gardening and housework and will not miss it.
I am looking forward to seeing you all.
I’m sure there are lots of others to add but will leave it there for now.
See you all on Tuesday.
